WordPress & Accessibility

We build, maintain and repair WordPress sites, and we audit and fix them for accessibility. We are an engineering-led studio, so we work in the code: custom plugins and themes, inherited sites nobody fully understands, and the integrations that connect a site to the rest of an organization.

What we do

• Maintenance and support. Core, theme and plugin updates tested in staging before they reach production, backups with a tested restore, uptime and error monitoring, and a short written report each month.
• Custom plugins and themes. PHP 8 development that follows WordPress coding standards, lives in version control and is documented for the next developer.
• Accessibility audits and remediation. We test against WCAG 2.1 AA using automated scanning plus manual keyboard testing, write up each finding with the fix and an hours estimate, and fix issues at the source in the theme or plugin.
• Redesign and modernization. Responsive, mobile-first layouts and reusable components so later edits stay consistent.
• Hosting, performance and security. Deployment coordination with your host, caching and image strategy, least-privilege accounts and hardened logins.
• Integrations. CRMs, payment systems and third-party APIs connected to WordPress, with the automation to keep them in sync.

How we take on an inherited site

1. Inventory. Theme and builder, plugins with versions and licenses, PHP and WordPress versions, hosting, DNS, backups, integrations and who owns each login. You keep the written record whether or not we continue.
2. Stabilize. Supported PHP, patched core and plugins, working backups, a staging copy, and monitoring. We rank the risks and send estimates before changing anything.
3. Maintain. Scheduled update cycles tested in staging, security hardening, performance checks and monthly reporting. Urgent security fixes move outside the cycle.
4. Build. New features and redesigns delivered in small, reviewable steps, with nothing changed on a live site until it has been reproduced and tested in staging.

Selected work

A gallery plugin, and a WordPress filter that broke it

We author and maintain a photo gallery plugin that runs on live client WordPress sites. When galleries on one site began showing black tiles, clipped images and a large gap in the layout, we traced it to WordPress's wpautop filter, which wraps block-level elements nested inside links in stray paragraph tags and breaks the markup. We confirmed the cause against WordPress core source, replaced the affected elements, shipped a new release and verified the result on the live site.

We run our own plugin distribution: releases are packaged and versioned from CI, published to our CDN and delivered to client sites through the standard WordPress update flow, with licensing handled by a plugin manager we built. We know how WordPress updates and rollbacks fail because we operate the system that ships them.
